A Historic Milestone: Unveiling Stage 2 of Rauawaawa Kaumatua Charitable Trust's Dementia & Age-Friendly Facility

A historic milestone was reached on Saturday for Rauawaawa Kaumatua Charitable Trust, unveiling Stage 2 of their Dementia & Age Friendly facility on Colombo St in Frankton. The occasion was highlighted with the presence of the Honourable Tama Potaka, Minister of Whanau Ora, Maori Development, Maori Crown Relations: Te Arawhiti, Conservation and Associate Minister of Housing. His attendance highlighted his recognition of how vital of a role this facility will play in caring for our elderly, particularly within the Maori community.
This significant event marked an important step forward in providing enhanced support and care for kaumatua with dementia and ensuring that the facility remains age-friendly. The newly upgraded facility reflects the Trust's commitment to creating a safe, supportive, and culturally sensitive environment for our kaumatua. The presence of such esteemed guests underlined the importance of this project and its impact on the community.
Lady Tureiti Moxon was also part of the celebrations along with our own Systems Lead Innovator - Mira Martin emphasizing the collaborative efforts of various leaders and organizations in supporting the kaupapa. The day was a celebration of community, progress, and dedication to the well-being of kaumatua. As the Trust continues to advance its mission, the upgraded facility stands as a testament to their commitment to the health and well-being of our kaumatua.
