Te Kokotā o Punaariki: Celebrating Gratitude, Growth, and Commitment to Whānau Wellbeing
Event Date: 05/12/2024
Te Kokotā o Punaariki was our end of year Christmas celebration event. This was an opportunity for us to express our gratitude to the many individuals and organisations that have played an integral role in supporting our kaimahi with their mahi.
We were incredibly proud to share with our newly launched strategic plan; Taakiri Ora capturing our pathway moving forward. Lastly, we presented the Healthy Families NZ 10 year impact report, shining a spotlight on the significant achievements and progress our organisation has made over the past decade.
Healthy Families Te Ngira (HFTN) would like to acknowledge Sonny Tukaki as well as Shontal Tukaki and their whānau, for preparing the massive kai for our dinner.
Lastly, we’d also like to acknowledge Cody Barnes and the team at Te Whare Maui for their unwavering support throughout this kaupapa. Their hard work throughout was instrumental in making this celebration a success. Nā Te Puea i meatia te kōrero, “mahia te mahi hei painga mo te iwi.” Ko ngā mata toki pounamu o Te Whare Māui te whakatinanatanga o te ohāki nei.
As one year draws to a close, another year is just around the corner. We here at HFTN remain steadfast in our commitment to influence systems change in an effort to uplift our most vulnerable whānau from experiencing the challenges that they face within the health system. Specifically speaking, our commitment to addressing the many inequities and disparities within the health system that negatively impact our whānau Māori, and our Pacifika whānau remains unwavering.
With that being said, we wish you all a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. We encourage our whānau and our communities to stay safe throughout these Summer months, and we look forward to serving our whānau and communities in the coming year.
Tākiri tū te kotahitanga, tākiri ko te ora!
